High potential and gifted education
Some students show specific skills, talents, or potential. These students might excel in problem solving, creativity, leadership, or sports.
At Kurnell Public School, we notice these strengths early on and help students develop them. We offer challenging lessons and activities to support advanced learners so they can grow and succeed.
Why choose us for your high potential or gifted child?
Recognising potential and developing talent
We identify students’ unique strengths and abilities early, helping them grow their skills and confidence through targeted support.
Customised Learning Experiences
Our teachers design lessons to challenge and engage high potential and gifted students, allowing them to learn at their own pace and explore subjects deeply.
Enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities
We offer a range of clubs, workshops, and activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and leadership beyond the classroom.
Broadening horizons
Students are encouraged to try new experiences and develop new skills, helping them discover their passions and build a love for learning.
What does high potential and gifted education look like?
High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We work closely with families and the wider community to nurture each student’s talent and regularly review our programs to ensure they continue to meet their needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
